Director of Music & Worship Arts (Part-Time Position)
First United Methodist Church of Glassboro is seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Music and Worship Arts to lead and foster our music and worship ministries. This individual will collaborate with the pastor, worship teams, and other leaders to plan and implement meaningful worship experiences. They will Direct the Chancel Choir and Children’s Choir, while overseeing music for worship services and special programs. *This is a part-time position
Qualifications:
Musical proficiency, leadership skills, and a heart for worship. *Must be able to read and play music.
Ministry & Creative Team Collaboration.
Ability to be inclusive and welcoming to the congregation and community.

The Good Grief Support Group
The Good Grief Support Group provides a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment for individuals experiencing grief due to the loss. Our mission is to offer comfort, support, and a sense of community during a difficult time by helping members process their grief in a healthy, constructive way.
This Eight Week Course begins May 13th at 7pm in Grounded Coffee House.

Meager Meals & Lenten Study
Join us Wednesday evenings during Lent for a time of food, fellowship, and prayerful study.
Meager Meals will begin on Wednesday, March 12th at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship House. Followed by a Lenten Bible Study. Meager Meals will be shared each Wednesday at 6:00 PM until April 9th. Our final Meager Meal will be shared on Maunday Thursday, April 17th followed by Maunday Thursday Service and Foot Washing at 7:00 PM.
Our Lent Bible Study "Faces at the Cross" will begin Wednesday, March 12th at 7:00 PM, bible study follows the Lent Meager Meal. The study is led by Pastor Tim. Join us as we explore the faces at the cross. There is plenty of room for you as we learn, share and fellowship. No book is needed.

Ash Wednesday Worship Service
Join us for an Ash Wednesday Service as we gather to observe a Holy Lent.
March 5th at 7pm following our Pancake Supper.

Ash Wednesday Pancake Supper
Join us for our annual Shrove Tuesday on Ash Wednesday Pancake Supper hosted by our Youth Program! We will gather at 6pm in our Fellowship House. There will be a free will offering that benefits our Summer Youth Mission Trip!
An Ash Wednesday Service will follow across the street in the Sanctuary at 7pm.



Praise Bowl 2025 and UMCOR Bucket Assembly Cancelled!
ATTN: We have been watching weather reports for the past 24hrs. Out of an abundance of caution with the impending snow/ice/sleet this afternoon/evening Praise Bowl & our Potluck Soup-er has been cancelled for this evening. Please stay safe today!
Our Praise Bowl is back! Mark your calendar for a night full of food, fun, fellowship & praise. The assembly of UMCOR Cleaning Buckets and the Potluck Soup-er Dinner begin at 5:00 PM followed by Praise Concert at 6:00 PM.

MLK Day of Service Postponed

Winter Bible Study: James
Pastor Tim will lead the study on the Book of James. All are welcome to meet in GROUNDED in the church. No book is required.

Our sermon series beginning January 5th for the 9 AM and 11 AM worship services, as well as Sunday School and our Adult Discussion Groups.

UMCOR Clean Kits
Mission & Outreach is UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) has depleted their supply of cleaning bucket kits due to Hurricanes Milton & Helene. We are collecting items for the kits. A list of the needed supplies can be found in the blue bucket in the Narthex. Items can be placed in the Narthex. The deadline for the collection is January 19th.


Longest Night Service
Join us for a time of quite contemplation and prayerful reflection at our Longest Night Service, often called Blue Christmas. This service provides a space for those who may be grieving, carrying heavy burdens, or who find this time of year hard. This service offers comfort and hope amidst the season's challenges.

Bethlehem Bakery
Come to the Bethlehem Bakery! Join us for Sunday School, Adult Discussion Class and Advent Bible Study at 10:00 AM. Then we will have a combined Worship Service at 11:00 AM with our Children’s Christmas Program, “Bethlehem Bakery”. After you are invited to lunch at the Fellowship House, followed by Gingerbread decorating for all! Come and enjoy this day of experiencing the joy and excitement of the Christmas Season!

Christmas Candlelight Cantata
Our 2024 Christmas Cantata is “His Name Is Jesus”. Join us Sunday, December 15th at 4:00 PM as we reflect on the sweetest name of all, Jesus! There will be a time of fellowship and light refreshments following the Cantata in Grounded.

Cookies, Carols, & Cocoa
Join us Friday, December 6th at 5:30 PM as we gather together outside of the church singing Christmas Carols, enjoying some delicious treats and warm hot chocolate. The Borough’s Christmas Tree lighting will be at 6:15 PM in the Town Square. Let’s share with our Glassboro Community the celebration and joy of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Advent Bible Study
Our Advent Bible Study, lead by Pastor Tim will begin Wednesday, 12/4/2024 in Grounded (located in the Church Building). We are studying the book, The Names for the Messiah by Walter Brueggemann. The book can be purchased from Amazon for about $10.00. If you can’t make it Wednesday night, our Sunday morning adult class: Deeper Roots (10:00 AM, in the Fellowship House), is studying the same book, beginning 12/1/2024. Christmas Ornament Exchange
All women of the church are invited to a Christmas Ornament Exchange sponsored by United Women in Faith. Bring a wrapped Christmas Ornament with a value of $10.00. Also we are asking that you bring a can of soup, in support of our community food pantry, The Samaritan Center. Bring a friend or two to share the fun, food and fellowship!

Pasta Dinner & Silent Auction Basket Fundraiser
We would love for you to join us for an evening of good food, great entertainment and a fun Silent Basket Auction. All proceeds will support our youth and their 2025 Mission Trip. Tickets are available after each Sunday Service or contact the church office at 856-881-3295.

Hanging of the Greens
Join us on Saturday morning, November 30th at 10:00 AM as we prepare and decorate the Church and Sanctuary in anticipation of the Christmas Season by Hanging the Greens. After you have worked up an appetite, join us for a delicious Pasta Dinner Fundraiser in the Fellowship House 6:00 PM. Tickets are required for the dinner.

Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Service
Join us at 7:00 PM Thanksgiving Eve, November 27th as we gather in the Church Sanctuary as a community to give thanks to God and remember all that we have been given.
