Hello Church Family,
Out of an abundance of caution, we will be closing our facilities for the next two weeks with the hope of reopening on Sunday, April 5th. All Bible studies, grow groups, and non-essential meetings are canceled as well. We plan to hold worship services online via Facebook Live (www.facebook.com/GlassboroUMC) during our normal worship times and we are exploring online options for Bible study and other group meetings. Our office will remain open to receive calls and answer questions.
I understand why some people may be upset that we are doing this but, I believe it is in all our best interests at this time. I will continue to be in contact with the staff, our council, and our DS as things develop and inform you of any changes. You can check our website (www.glassboromethodist.org) or follow us on our social media pages as well.
I want to remind you not to give in to fear. We serve a Savior who is greater than any virus or inconvenient schedule changes. While we act out of caution, we must also act in faith, not panicking or hoarding toilet paper but drawing closer to Jesus and encouraging others with our demeanor and behavior to do the same. Above all, take this time to do as Paul says in Philippians 4:4-7 and
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Please join me in praying for one another, our congregation, especially for those who are most vulnerable, for our community, nation and our world.
Yours in Christ,
