Senior Pastor Karl R. Kraft is Jersey born and bred, having grown up in Groveville (a small mill town in the Trenton outskirts) and been an active member of the Groveville Methodist Church (this was prior to 1968) until graduating from Hamilton High School-West in 1965. He earned his B.A. from Union College in Barbourville, KY; an M. Div. from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Philadelphia (now Palmer Seminary); and a D. Min from Drew University School of Theology in Madison, NJ. |

He has served churches throughout Southern New Jersey for 36 years, including New Brooklyn and Sicklerville (1969-1970), Roebling: Trinity (1970-1975), Ocean City: First (now St. Peter's, associate, 1975-1977), Ventnor: Trinity (1977-1979), Millville: West Side and Mt. Pleasant (1979-1983), Burlington: Broad Street (1983-1991), Pennington: First (1991-1994) and the United Methodist Church of Mantua (1994 - present). |
Rev. Kraft is active in many groups, including the Communications Committee (secretary) and the TV Ministry Committee of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference, Christian Educators Fellowship (secretary), Methodist Federation for Social Action, and the local Ministerium (secretary). He is also actively involved in New Jerseyans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. Rev. Kraft will become the Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church, Glassboro on July 1, 2008. |
