A Little Bit of Everything.........
WOMAN OF FAITH How do two days of relaxation, laughter and inspiration sound to you? And in the midst of all that being inspired and reminded of just how unique and special you are to God? Summer Worship Format: We are delighted to announce our second summer offering a contemporary style of worship! Please note that the 8:30 AM service will remain in the traditional format, but the 11:00 AM worship will change to a contemporary format. The last contemporary worship for this year will be September 26th. See the CALENDAR for meeting dates and times. Dictrict Resource Day will be held on Friday, September 24th at Hope UMC, 700 Cooper Rd., Voorhees. The laity session, "The Nine Steps of Unleashing Your Church," will be held 7:00 -9:00 PM. Choirs Resume on Thursday, Sept. 23rd with practice for the Cherub Choir and Youth Choir at 6:30 PM. The Chancel Choir will begin at 7:15 PM and the Handbell/Chime Choir will begin at 8:30 PM. Extreme Awakening Camp is for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. July 25-30 at Seaville Camp Meeting (NJ). Tuition is $225. For more information call 732-774-6748 or extremesscm@gmail.com
Activities for residents at MSAA in Glassboro. It has come to the chuch's attention that residents have very few activiites. Would you be part of the group that ministers to them with a hymn sing, a craft night, a supervised game or a bingo night. Contact Edna G. |
Sunday School Kick-Off: We have planned an old-fashion kick-off with a theme tied to the fall football season. Everyone is invited to join us in the sanctuary to sing old-fashion songs, have a real rally for the Lord and charge our members with HIS mission! Sunday, September 12th @ 9:45 AM 50 Year + Members: An ad hoc group is working on a special service to honor our church members who have attaIned or surpassed 50 years here at FUMC Glassboro. If you have been a member here for 50 years or more and did not receive a mailed invitation, please notify the church office immediately. Then bring your family and friends on Sun. Sept. 19th to either the 8:30 AM or 11:00 AM service for our time of recognition and congratulations. The 2011 Entertainment Books are now available. See Bob Wooton, Dave Walters or the church office to purchase the $30 book. All proceeds benefit our annual Children's Christmas party. Dinner and Music on Saturday, Sept. 25th at Richwood UMC Fellowship House. Our band, Praise Hymn, and Richwood UMC's band, Sanctified, will follow the 6:00 PM dinner. The program is sponsored by French Lodge #89, Independent Order of Odd Fellows to support local and international charities. Tickets are $16 each. Contact Bob Wooton. The Revolve Tour is coming to Baltimore, MD on May 11-12, 2011. Two tickets are left. For teen girls, the Revolve Tour is designed to communicate God loves them, just as they are, and to draw them into a life-changing relationship with Him. Contact Ginger S. for information and to reserve tickets. Our Community Garden welcomes your involvement. Help pull some weeds- water our plants. Every row is full - you'll find tomatoes, eggplant, and squash, Come at your convenience and weed or water. We're looking for help to harvest too.
