Pastoral Assistant

Employment:                    Part time, 20 hours per week (52 wks x 20 hrs = 1000 hrs work + 40 hrs vacation)
Compensation:                 Paid twice monthly on a 12 month basis; salary as determined by budget
Reports to :                      Senior Pastor
Responsible to:                Staff-Parish Relations Committee
Evaluation:                       Annually by the Staff-Parish Relations Committee
Responsibilities:             

1. Assists at Sunday morning services and whenever possible, special services
2. Assumes responsibilities as directed by the Pastor during his/her absence
3. Shares visitation with the Senior Pastor
4. Communicates promptly any needs as identified during visitations/conversations to other ministries of the church
5. Meets with the Pastor regularly
6. Faithfully ministers within the parameters of the job description
7. Recruits, trains and supports volunteers for Kids for Christ,  Jr. High and Sr. High Youth groups according to Safe Sanctuary policies
8. Regularly convenes the Youth Council which consists of representatives from Kids for Christ,  Jr. High and Sr. High Youth groups and guides them in accomplishing the mission and goals of the church.
9. Assists the Youth Council in planning and administering their part of the church budget.
10. Submit monthly log of hours
11. Maintain office hours twice a week
